Our social studies curriculum expands in a developmentally appropriate manner from neighborhood community to national awareness and action. Children gain an understanding of the interconnectedness of people, culture, and their environment.
Middle School
History
The Middle School program begins with the study of geography and the development of world cultures. The seventh grade course is Global Studies, and U.S. History is offered in grade eight. The emphasis in these courses is on exposing the students to the world in which they live and providing the vocabulary and conceptual understanding necessary to study history.
 
High School
History

Ancient World History is taught in grade nine and Modern World History in grade ten. Juniors take a survey course in United States History, and seniors have a choice among Government and Politics, or Social and Political Philosophy.
